The first RIFIUTO SPECIALE collection featured an elderly couple photographed in an abandoned quarry. Our aim was to show how beauty can prevail despite the rape of the land and the marginalization of particular sectors of society.
In this technologically advanced, post-industrial age, consumption and waste belong to a continuous cycle that creates rejects, both material and human. By transforming the laborer’s overalls into a playfully chivalrous suit of armor, we wish to reiterate our belief in the regenerative power of beauty: that of a new hero whose shield is unassuming harmony. | ||
